Agentic coding loops read and write constantly, and grok-build-0-1 is the cheapest meter xAI offers for that: $1 per million input tokens and $2 output, 20 percent below the $1.25 and $2.50 charged on grok-4-3 and the whole 4.20 group, and half the input and a third of the output of the 4.5 flagship. The concession is the window, 256,000 tokens against the million the same $1.25 tier provides, so the saving holds only while the working set stays small. Cached input is $0.20, the same absolute floor as the more expensive tiers, which means the discount is proportionally shallower here, a fifth of the miss rate rather than a sixth.
